Unleash your Inner Leprechaun

Who doesn’t love St. Patrick’s Day?  Does it really matter if you have any Irish blood running through your veins?  When March 17th rolls around, we’re all Irish; throw on your “kiss me I’m Irish” tee shirt, hoist a pint of Guinness and enjoy!!  I only recently found out that my father’s family hails from Ireland via Canada, so I am happier than ever to celebrate the holiday and explore my new-found roots.  Maybe this helps explain, at least in part, my love for entertaining and socializing with friends and family… and green beer.

Although I have never had the pleasure of traveling to the Emerald Isle, I have a good friend who has a strong passion for our friends from over the puddle.  Spend 10 minutes with Richie and he will unleash your inner leprechaun by regaling you with vividly painted tales of history and beauty found in Ireland – all of which end (and sometimes begin) at the town pub with a glass of stout surrounded by family, friends, food and music.  Sounds good to me.

In honor of St. Patrick’s Day I’ve included a few recipes for both traditional and non-traditional Irish coffee to my Recipe of the Month.  If by chance green beer is not your thing, these tasty toddies will make you smile.

For those readers who would like a more up close and personal taste of Ireland, check out Tenon Tours.  Their tour packages to Ireland are designed to give you total control of your vacation.  Choose Ireland trips, group tours, independent vacations and custom packages – and if you’re lucky you may even get a chance to speak with Richie!!
